Richard Prill,
83, died Sunday, March 16, 2008 at his home.
Funeral service was Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church
in Lake City. Burial was in the Lanesboro
Cemetery near Lanesboro. Richard is survived by his
wife, Marion of Lanesboro; son, Roger (Bev) Prill
of Lohrville; daughters, Deborah (Mike) Harms of
Lake City, Mary (Dale) Feilmeier of Early; 11
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Leanna
Kay Vincent; son-in-law, Ward Vincent; great-grandson, Tanner Campbell; and
brother, Verlin Prill. Richard Edward Prill was born October 11, 1924 at home in rural Carroll
County, Iowa to parents Dick F. and Emma (Peter) Prill. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran
Church in Glidden on November 9, 1924, and confirmed on March 26, 1942. He graduated from Glidden High School with
the class of 1942. On January 16,
1949, he married Marion E. Meyer at St. John’s Lutheran Church in
Glidden. Richard farmed in Glidden and
Lytton before moving to their present home 43 years ago. Together, he and Marion owned and operated
a grocery store in Lanesboro for 13 years.
His hobbies were fishing and woodworking, and
one of his greatest joys was spending time with his children and
grandchildren. Richard was a member of the
Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lake City where he served as a Church Elder. |
