Lytton – Ron Potts, 66, died Monday, May 12, 2008 at his home. A memorial service was held Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Lytton Presbyterian Church in Lytton. Ron is survived by his wife, Linda of Lytton, son, Rod (Shannan) of Lytton, daughter, Angie Potts of Lytton, 2 grandchildren, Samantha and Redge Potts of Lytton, brothers, Frank “Sonny” (Emma Lou) Potts of Utica, SD, Charles “Bud” (Joyce) Potts of Trimont, MN, James (Martha) Potts of Lake City, and sisters, Marion (Curtis) Mattsen of Welcome, MN, Joyce (Donald) Rethmeier of Laurel, IA, and Violet (Larry) Schleisman of Lake City, and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Rosemary Potts. Ronald Royal Potts was born November 20, 1941 in Petersberg, Iowa to Royal and Nellie (Crawford) Potts. He graduated from Sherburn, MN in 1959. From 1960 to 1963 he served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Hancock in Southeast Asia as an E-3 ship fitter. On October 21, 1967 he was married to Linda Titus in a double ceremony with his brother, Jim and Linda’s sister, Martha at the Lytton Presbyterian Church. He was a life-long farmer, and was a welder for Noble Manufacturing in Sac City and worked at Adams elevator in Lake City. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Ron was a member of the Lytton Presbyterian Church, Lytton Lions Club which he served as president, a volunteer fireman in Nemaha, 4-H leader and a pork producer. |
