Lake City – Mary Lou Phillips, 83, died Tuesday,
July 6, 2010 at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 10 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church with Pastor Bill Weiss officiating
and burial was in Highland Cemetery in Churdan.
Mary Louise Phillips was born December
28, 1926
at Churdan, Iowa to Chester and Elsie (Nulle)
Schroeder. She attended the Tobin Business College in Fort Dodge after graduating from Churdan High School.
On May 3, 1946, Mary Lou was united in marriage
to Robert Phillips at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge.
She worked at Paff Bakery in Fort Dodge and Electrolux Factory in Jefferson.
She was a member of Adaza Club and Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lake City, and she lived at shady Oaks Care Center for the past 5 years.
Mary Lou is survived by her
sons, Duane Phillips of Osceola, Kenneth Phillips of Indianola, Gary Phillips
of New Virginia, and Brian Phillips of Sloan; daughters, Nancy
Phillips of Fort
Dodge, and
Patricia Smith of Idaho; 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1
great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Gail Thorn of Twin Lakes. She was
preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Phillips, grandson, Brad
Phillips, and sister, Ruth Kluver.
