Eugene Lauver

Fort Worth, Texas – Eugene Lauver, 80, formerly of Lohrville, died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, Louisiana.  A funeral service was held Friday, April 2, 2010 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City with burial at the Westlawn Cemetery in Lehigh.

Eugene Paul Lauver was born April 17, 1929 at Lohrville, Iowa to Paul and Mildred (Chase) Lauver.  In 1950, he was married to Pearl Mae Widick at Lehigh, Iowa.  For 26 years, Gene served in the U.S. Air Force in the medical field before retiring in 1987.  He rose to the rank of Chief and served as a combat medic during the Korean War and Vietnam War and was awarded the Air Force Medal for heroism.

Gene is survived by his daughters, Debra Robinson and Susan Noble both of Alabama; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and brother, LeRoy Lauver of Scottsdale, Arizona.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, David; and brother, Robert Lauver.
