George Krause

   Lake City – George Krause, 82, died Thursday, May 13, 2010 at his home.  Funeral services were held Monday, May 17 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Carla Hillyer officiating and burial in the Lake City Cemetery. 

   August George Krause was born February 22, 1928 at Sherwood, Iowa to August Mack and Lucille (Gilland) Krause Barnhoft.  He served in the US Army from 1946 to 1947.  On November 6, 1950, he was united in marriage to Deloris McChesney at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  George drove truck and farmed his family farm until his retirement in 1990.

   George is survived by his wife, Deloris of Lake City; daughters, Lynnett Sue (Tom) Baer of Waukee and Lisa (Dale) Krause-Reinert of Storm Lake; grandchildren, Amanda Green of Urbandale, Christopher (Tiffany) Green of Lake City, Max Baer of Waukee, Landon (Brittany) Krause of Lake City, Ashley Moller of Cherokee, and Amber Moller of Cherokee; and great-grandchildren, David Moller, Garrett Krause, and Claire Green; brothers, Raymond (Charlene) Krause of Sioux Rapids, Clifford Krause and Clarence Krause both of Ames; sisters, Lena Knight, Delores Morrow and Minnie Van Ahn all of Lake City, Rachel Geisinger of CA, Mabel Vetter of Manson, and Carol (John) Erritt of Sommers.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Milford Krause and Harold Krause; and son-in-law, Steve Burley.
