Elmer Hoffmann was born Elmer was an avid men’s fast
pitch softball player for several Carroll area teams. He was honored in 2003, by being inducted
into the Iowa Fastpitch Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the Dedham American
Legion and Knights of On On Elmer is survived by his wife, Flossie of Lake City; his five children, Sharon (Ronny) Eischeid of Carroll, Don Hoffmann of Carroll, Mary (Scott) Thompson of Cambridge, Wanda (Bill) Neuman of Omaha, NE, and Dale (Erin) Hoffmann of Altoona; step-son, Tom (Cyndie) Lasher of Delaware, OH; 9 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Jannis Feilmeier of Eldora, Elsie Willenborg of Carroll, Carolyn Winslow of Ada, OK, and Joan (Charles) Segebart of Schleswig. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Earl Feilmeier, Harold Willenborg, and Tom Winslow. Elmer loved playing cards with friends, going to Sparky’s, listening to Polka music, and playing with his dog, Lyra. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Iowa Hospice, Carroll. |
