Viola Heim, 86, died
Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City. Mass of the Christian
Burial was held Friday, February 15, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Auburn. Celebrant was Father Larry McCarty, and burial was in St. Mary’s
Cemetery in Auburn. Viola Hamilton was born on
October 30, 1921 to parents Chester and Ruby (Jones) Hamilton. Viola
graduated from Auburn High School. She married Harold Heim on October 30,
1940 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Auburn. Viola was a cook at St. Mary’s
Catholic School in Auburn, and was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Choir.
Viola was an avid bingo player and enjoyed crocheting, playing bridge and
being a Hawkeye fan. Viola is survived by 2
daughters, Kathleen (Carl) Mauer of Auburn, Marilyn
(Jerry) Fleming of Spirit Lake, 3 sons, Ed (Karen) Heim of Carroll, Dean
(Chris) Heim of Lake City and Joe (Carol) Heim of Cedar Rapids, 16
grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, 2
sisters, Zeta Bradley and Dorothy Mohr both of Lake City, and 2
sisters-in-law Arlene Hamilton of Auburn and Kay Hamilton of Denver,
Colorado. She was preceded in death by
her parents, husband, Harold, and brothers, Earl, Leonard, and Marvin
Hamilton. |
