Lake City – Frances Griffin, 87, died Monday, March 29, 2010 at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City.
A prayer service was held Friday, April 2, 2010 at Lampe Funeral Home
in Lake City.
Frances is survived by her husband, Don of Lake City; sons,
Douglas of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, Darrel of Lake
City, Duane of Perry, and Kevin of Pinckney, Michigan; daughter, Marquita Klaver of Lake City; 7
grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Glenn and Vernon Lunceford both of Independence, Missouri; and sister,
Norma Barchers of Berkeley Springs, West
Virginia. She was preceded in death by
her parents, 1 brother, 3 sisters, and 1 son.
Mary Frances Lunceford was born April 10, 1922 in Jackson County, Missouri to Adrian and Gladys (Tucker) Lunceford. She
graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1940 and from Kansas City Business College in 1942. She worked for 3 years as a secretary in
the Office of War Information in Washington, D.C.
On October 9, 1945 she was married to Don Griffin at Washington, D.C.
Frances was a member of the Lake City
Union Church.
Memorial contributions may be left to Stewart Memorial
Hospice or to Dockery Chapel United Methodist Church in Trenton, Missouri.
