Lake City – Daisy Batz, 97, formerly of
Yetter, died Friday, February 26, 2010 at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 1, at the Lake City Union
Church with Rev. Betty Weidert officiating and burial was in the Lake City Cemetery.
Daisy is survived
by her children: Daryl of Washington
State, Kenneth (Jeanne) of Lake City, Marlene (LeRoy) Miller of Churdan, Juanita
Suiters of Tempe, AZ, and Steve (Elaine) of Carroll; 14 grandchildren, 28
great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Millie
Sennings of Springfield, IL, and Lila Vermily of Pocahontas, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents,
husband, John Batz in 1980, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and 1 grandchild.
Daisy E. Stevens
was born February 2, 1913 at Donnelson, Illinois to William and Rosa (Bates)
Stevens. On December
13, 1930,
she was married to John Batz at Rockwell City, Iowa.
She lived 50 years of her married life on a farm near Yetter, helping
on the farm and raising her family.
Following her husband’s death, she moved to Lake City.
Daisy was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Auburn and enjoyed quilting, baking,
playing cards and spending time with her family.
