Lanesboro – Robert DeSart, 76, died Monday, February 11, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake City. Celebrant was Father Lynn Bruch and burial in the Lanesboro Cemetery.
Robert Lawrence DeSart was born on October 14, 1942 in Lake City, Iowa to Lawrence “Pete” and Helen (Johnson) DeSart. On July 13, 1963, Bob married Marilyn Winker at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake City. He was a member of the Lanesboro Fire Department. Over the years Bob worked at the Feed Mill in Lake City, he drove a gravel truck, and was a truck driver for Farmers Coop hauling grain.
Bob is survived by his wife Marilyn of Lanesboro, children Jamie (Robyn) of Carroll, Angie (Matt) Clark of Glidden, Jeff (Sam) of Lanesboro and Jason (Linette) of Lanesboro, 12 grandchildren and 4 great-granddaughters, and sisters Judy (Richard) Hupp of Schleswig and Ramona Glassford of Lake City, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Pete and Helen DeSart, father- and mother-in-law LeRoy and Myrtle Winker, sister Sharon Blankenship and brother Rich DeSart.
